DECA is an easy-to-use assessment system with a 10-minute administration time. Based on a nationwide, representative sample of 2,000 children 2-5 years old, the DECA: Evaluates the effectiveness of indicidual child and program-wide interventions. Provides developmentally appropriate strategies to foster resilience. Effectively screens for emotional and behavioral concerns. Emphasizes a team approach among professional and family members. meets programs' varying needs by allowing for flexible implementation. DECA meets Head Start and IDEA requirements for strength-based assessment as well as APA and NAEYC assessment guidelines. Kit includes: 40 Record Forms, Classroom Strategies Guide, User's Guide, 20 Parent Strategy Guides (For Now And Forever), Technical Manual, and Classroom Observation Journal. The DECA program is fantastic. The e-deca is simple for teachers to use and track progress of children in the program. Would highly recommend to any early childhood program but especially to Head Start.

DECA- Valuable product

We have used the DECA for the past 2 years and find it to be a valuable tool when assessing social emotional factors with young children. Teachers find the information so very helpful in charting a course to assist the children in their development. The parents are pleased with the reports and results as well. Kaplan's service is prompt and accurate. We are very pleased all around with the product and Kaplan. Thanks so much.

The DECA kit is a must-have!

We have used the DECA kit - questionnaires, checklists, classroom strategies guide, etc. - for the last 4 years. Questionnaire results allow us to strategically plan for the classroom as a whole as well as individual children in our preschool program. Social-emotional development IS the key to future school success and kindergarten readiness, and the DECA kit has proven to be an invaluable tool to collect data and put plans into place that help support additional growth. The Now & Forever booklets are also a very nice resource for parents in sharing information. The DECA kit is a must-have for those working with young children interested in promoting and supporting resiliency.

Verry Happy with the Kaplan service.

We are very hapy with the product and the service that we have received from Kaplan Early Learning company. We use the DECA C in our Infant/child Mental Health program we provide to young single mothers in our community.
